The Skill Shift is a brand of Fenchi Conseil Inc. (“we”, “us”). Effective date: September 1, 2026. Last updated: September 1, 2026.
The Skill Shift provides a personal AI assistant for small businesses. Each customer gets a private, isolated instance of the assistant that they reach through a web dashboard and through WhatsApp, and that can act on their behalf — reading and drafting email, managing their calendar, and placing phone calls they request. This policy explains what data that involves, how we handle it, and your rights.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Fenchi Conseil Inc., 3480 Ch. de la Côte-de-Liesse, Mont-Royal, QC H4N 2P4, Canada. Person in charge of the protection of personal information (Québec Law 25): Fadi Tanios, fenchi.conseil@gmail.com, +1 514-961-0549.
2. What we collect and why
- Account details — name, email, business name, time zone, and the phone number(s) allowed to use your assistant. Purpose: create and secure your instance; identify you. Source: you, during onboarding.
- Messages you exchange with your assistant (web dashboard and WhatsApp), including voice notes. Purpose: run the assistant and keep conversation history so it can follow up. Source: you; WhatsApp via Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform.
- Phone-call transcripts and summaries for calls your assistant places at your request, including what the called party said. Purpose: report the outcome back to you; let you review it in the dashboard. Calls are carried by Twilio; speech is processed by OpenAI.
- Google account data you connect — email messages, drafts, and calendar events. Purpose: only to perform the actions you ask for (search or summarize email, create or check appointments). See section 5. Source: Google, with your consent (OAuth).
- Contacts you save with the assistant (names, phone numbers, notes), so it can message or call the people you name.
- Tasks, reminders, preferences and “remember that…” facts — the assistant’s memory.
- Technical logs (timestamps, message identifiers, errors) to operate and troubleshoot the service.
We do not use your data to train AI models, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Service providers (sub-processors)
- OpenAI — generates the assistant’s replies and powers its voice on phone calls. Message text, call audio and relevant context are sent to OpenAI’s API to produce responses. OpenAI’s API terms state that data sent via the API is not used to train its models.
- Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) — delivers WhatsApp messages between you and your assistant.
- Twilio — places and carries the phone calls your assistant makes.
- Google — Gmail and Google Calendar (when you connect them); Google Cloud Speech-to-Text transcribes WhatsApp voice notes.
- Hostinger — hosts our servers, located outside Canada (exact location available on request).
Some of these providers process data outside Québec and outside Canada. Where required, we have assessed these transfers in accordance with Law 25.
4. Phone calls made by your assistant
When you ask your assistant to call someone, it introduces itself at the start of the call as your AI assistant and never presents itself as a human. Calls are transcribed so that a written summary can be sent to you. It is your responsibility to make sure that you are permitted to have these calls placed and transcribed in your jurisdiction and, where applicable, to inform the people being called.
5. Google user data
If you connect a Google account, the assistant requests access to Gmail (read, draft and send email) and Google Calendar (read and manage events). The Skill Shift’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is used only to provide the features you ask the assistant to perform; it is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models; humans do not read it except with your explicit permission for support, or as required by law. You can disconnect Google at any time from the dashboard (Settings → Connections) or from your Google Account’s third-party access page; disconnecting deletes the stored access tokens.
6. Storage, security, retention and deletion
Each customer’s data is stored in a separate database on servers we control; customers cannot access each other’s data. Google access tokens are stored encrypted. Access to production systems is limited to Fenchi Conseil Inc. staff using key-based authentication. Data is retained for as long as your account is active. When your account is closed, your instance and database are deleted within 30 days, except where we must retain information to meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete specific conversations, contacts, or your entire account at any time by writing to fenchi.conseil@gmail.com; we confirm deletion in writing.
7. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to receive a copy of the data you provided to us in a structured format. Contact the person in charge listed in section 1. You may also lodge a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. People other than our customers
If you were called or messaged by a Skill Shift assistant acting for one of our customers, the customer is responsible for that interaction; we process your words only to deliver the result to them. To have a transcript that mentions you deleted, contact the customer or us at the address in section 1.
9. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced to customers by email.
